Almond Pancakes

I’m currently in a very experimental mood. My latest kitchen experiments have me feeling more like a mad scientist than your average home cook. After discovering the joys of making raspberry vegan ice cream, I was forced to up the personal ante a little more. I had planned a small brunch in my already cramped apartment for a few people. In my head, I envisioned a “buffet style” menu. Fruit [...]

Photo Friday-Shades of Red

by Peter G Personal

This week I noticed I featured dishes that had a hint of red in them. “Papoutsakia”-Stuffed Eggplants

by Peter G Greek Food

Whenever I heard the word “papoutsakia” in Greek cooking, I would fall into mad hysterics. To anyone who doesn’t speak Greek, “papoutsakia” literally translates as little shoes! Me: what’s for dinner tonight? Dad: papoutsakia Me: LOL! And on it went! Basically to the uninitiated, the dish is eggplants stuffed with cooked mince meat and topped with a cheesy, béchamel sauce. The dish receives its name because the eggplants look like [...]
