All The Best!

eggnog

I just wanted to wish everyone all the best for the holiday season.  Thank you again to everyone who passes by here.  This year I was inspired to look at Christmas from a dark/light perspective.  Borrowing on holiday traditions from around the world I shot these images as a sort of Xmas tribute.  There’s a bit of eggnog.  Some fruit mince pies and a  plum pudding with a brandy custard!  Keep cooking and keep eating…

All the best to you too Peter! Your first picture is absolutely stunning! You can really capture the “mood” that you were trying to portray. When I saw the pic I could not help but sigh… I just read on Helen’s blog about the food styling – what fun it must have been!

there’s something special about that pudding – we never ate it in nz, yet here i am craving some! i have always been a fruit sweet person rather than a greek syrup-steeped fan… delicious photography as usual

The “all white” picture captured my heart. White is my favorite color and I know as an artist that might sound odd. While I love pops of color, when I see an all white combination, I feel like my heart senses get activated. I think what I love most about your site is that it’s not that you are just a good cook or a good photographer….you have a way of unleashing a part of your soul onto the page. You told me “you tell your story with pictures.” I agree and you do it better than just about anyone. There is a sense of “peace, security and sharing” in your photos.I look forward to all my visits next year.

Great lloking food. As Simone already said it, the plum pudding looks tempting. Great shots. I like the plum pudding shot with all the dark colors giving the feeling of a very rich plum pudding for me.
