Summer Fruits

I’ve been a little absent from blogging lately.  I’ve been trying to sort out some issues in regards to my travel arrangements.  Let’s just say it’s a good idea to have more than 6 months validity left on your passport when you travel!!! Anyway, I won’t bore you with that.  I want to talk about all the summer fruits I’ve spotted lately.  I love this time of the year.  The markets are alive with the aroma of stone fruits and berries.  The colours are strong, vibrant and fiery.  I’ve bought nectarines, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and cherries.  I’ve tried to use them in a variety of ways but today’s post won’t have any recipes.  These will follow in the coming week.  Except for the nectarines.  I just munch on those until the juices run down my chin.  I actually have a bit of a nectarine addiction!

I’ve also spent a fair bit of time photographing these summer fruits.  Actually a lot of time!  I hope by Monday to have my online photography portfolio available.  I’ll have the name and link available and I’ll make a big “hoo-ha” announcement here! But I’m not leaving my day job just yet!  It’s an area I hope to pursue semi professionally.  Blogging has opened up a lot of opportunities and allowed me to do what I love most.  Be creative with food!  Hope you enjoy the pictures and I’ll be back shortly with a few “fun” recipes and pictures!  Cheers!

Traveling again, huh? Ahh, it’s your Spring and we can live vicariously through you until the warm weather comes around the northern hemisphere.

I’m a nectarine addict, too. They may be the most perfect fruit. Although blueberries are right up there, too. The photos are beautiful.

Your beautiful pictures are really soul-uplifting! We still have to go through 2 seasons in order to eat those fruits!

cheers,

Rosa

I always think I’ve accidentally clicked on an old post when I see titles like this one. Then I think, Duh, it’s not wintertime everywhere, Susan. I know I tell you this a lot, Peter, but these pictures are phenomenal. I mean really. I just called my husband over, and we’ve spent the last couple minutes, oohing and aahing over them. I adore the top one with the checkered take out box on the chair.

It’s still so strange to me that you are enjoying summer while we’re waiting for a snow flurry this weekend! Enjoy your summer fruit … it looks divine.

Congrats! I know you will be successful. I love all of your photographs. Keep us updated! I’d hire you if I had any money.

I’m jealous of all your summer fruits. But hey, we have pomegranates and cranberries so nah nah nah nah.

I miss all the summer fruits like an old friend in our Canadian winter. I live in a fruit and wine belt so the fruit is always freshly picked from the trees, bushes and vines.

Now is the time when I sit jealously, waiting for the winter to end. I love nectarines, too, and can pretty much eat my weight in them. :P

P, stunning works, as usual! We’re now waiting for the second lot of strawberries to enjoy as they are still flowering and bearing young fruits. Raspberry bushes are now full of young fruits and some of them are ready to be ripen in a couple of weeks. Our first plums are smeared with pinkish colour on the skin, a good sign for Summer harvest. I am so excited, P! Yipppiiiiiiiieeeeee!!!

Those berry pics just about sent me to the moon. Living in a rural set of the mountains we hardly ever see a fresh batch of berries that look like that. Its May and we have snow coming down outside…yikes! Find your posts always heartwarming and pics amazing:-)
